Danny Joe Hudson

June 14, 1941 — February 3, 2020

Danny Joe Hudson, 78, of Middleton, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar.

A native of Brownsville, he was born June 14, 1941, son of the late Hence Dorris Hudson and Sally Virginia Wright Hudson and lived in Middleton for 70 years. He retired from the Memphis Fire Department in 1995, was active in the Fire Department Union and was a farmer. His family described him as a 'big-hearted person who loved his nieces and nephews and was a Christian'. He enjoyed making homemade wine, bar-be-queing and country music, but all of that paled in comparison to the love he had for his wife, Connie, who preceded him in death in 2009. Mr. Hudson was a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include a nephew, Brett A. Hudson of Hernando, MS; a niece, Danielle Hernandez (Oscar) of Monroe, LA; a sister, Virginia Carol Hudson of Ashland, OR; a brother, Smokey Hudson of Memphis; a niece, Christy and a nephew, Jerry Wayne. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
