Danny Choate Tacker, age 69, passed away July 30th at his home in Henderson, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born on August 13th 1950, in Humboldt, Tennessee to Clara Don and Tommy Tacker. He loved the small town of Humboldt and liked spending time with his extended family in the area. Working at Western Auto after school, Danny decided to explore a career in business. He joined the Future Business Leaders of America in High School and won a state award his senior year. After graduating from Humboldt High in 1968, Danny attended Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee. A member of the Epsilon Psi Chapter of Kappa Sigma, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972. Danny would go on to have a successful career managing major operations for companies such as Rockwell International, Batesville Casket Company, Temco, and Premier Manufacturing. A proven leader, driven, dedicated, and dependable he won multiple awards in his industry.
Danny was a Christian and an active member of First United Methodist Church, the Lion’s Club, and the American Cancer Society. Danny also supported Freed-Hardeman Athletics, the Chester County Chamber of Commerce, local elementary schools, and local businesses through charitable donations, volunteering, and attending local functions.
Danny enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf at Chickasaw, watching Tennessee football, traveling with his tour group, taking family beach vacations, cooking out on holidays, and loved being a husband, a father, and a grandfather. He was a source of wisdom, guidance, love, strength, and support. A man with character, integrity, pride, and determination to succeed and support his family. He was an inspiration, a teacher, a listener, a big brother, a best friend, he was Everything. We are thankful for the time we had, the memories we made, and the love we shared. Until we meet again...
We will gather in his honor, on his birthday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. First United Methodist Church in Henderson, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Danny’s name to the Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, TN. or The Chester County Lion’s Club.
