David William Decker

Mr. David William Decker, age 74 passed away at his home in Enville early Thursday morning, November 29, 2018.
He was born in Jacksonville, IL on November 14, 1944 to the late Leonard Alvin and Betty Ann Sellers Decker. He graduated from Routt High School in Jacksonville. After high school he joined the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He married Beverly Barbee in 1969. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2016. He worked in maintenance for the Jacksonville, IL Department of Parks and Lakes for 21 years, retiring in 2009. He moved to Enville, TN in 2015 to live with his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and pulling pranks on people. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Jacksonville. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Michael Decker of Centralia, IL; three daughters Doreen Ferguson (Frank) of Enville, TN, Melanie Workman (Matt Shirkey) of Arenzville, IL, Mitzi Decker (fiance Michael Teeters) of Jacksonville, IL; a brother Greg Decker and a sister Cheri Sullivan both of Jacksonville, IL; 11 grandchildren Kayla Attaway, Kimberly Ferguson, Patrick Ferguson, Lexi Decker, Cheyenne Decker, Riddick Workman, Ameara Workman, Miguel Alvarez, Jr., Mason Rattler, Grace Teeters, Roman Teeters; 4 great grandchildren Morrigan Usher, Stephanie Attaway, Hunter Attaway and Rylan Ferguson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Decker and a grandson, Michael Teeters.

There will be no local services. Burial will be in Springfield, IL at Camp Butler at a later date.
