Mr. David Dupree Martin, age 80 of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 at Bolivar General Hospital.
David Dupree Martin was born Tuesday, June 15, 1937, to the late Dupree Martin and Betty McIntyre Martin in Dothan, AL. On March 15, 1959, he married Patsi Lanier Martin, who passed away May 30, 2016.
David worked for the American Cyanamid Company. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1962, and in 1961, he graduated from Auburn University. David loved singing in church and he was a deacon of West Memorial Baptist Church in Saulsbury, TN. He grew up in Enterprise, AL, and lived in various locations before moving to Grand Valley Lakes in 1994.
David is survived by four daughters, Kim Martin of Olive Branch, MS, Kelly Beach (Sid) of Collierville, TN, Kathy Martin of Mt. Prospect, IL, and Karen Meredith (David) of Olive Branch, MS; a son David Martin, Jr. (Angie) of Pearland, TX; eight grandchildren, Sean Beach (Lauren), Laney Beach, Whitney Beach, Haley Perry, Michael Perry, Nelson Meredith, Kylie Martin, and Joshua Martin; and a brother, Jerry Martin (Joanna) of Auburn, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dupree and Betty Martin; his wife, Patsi Martin; and a brother Jimmy Martin.
