Mr. Rixie departed this life Tuesday afternoon, October 12, 2021, at his home near Middleton.
The son of the late Lace and Ola Speck Rixie, he was a retired maintenance mechanic having worked 33 for Harman Automotive, 10 years for Wilson Well and 2 years with Hardeman County Solid Waste department. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for 33 years and was a member of Apostolic House of Prayer in Ripley, MS.
David spent his life working on tractors and lawnmowers in his spare time. He enjoyed spending time with his family and on his home place where he lived for 79 years. He was an avid gardener and he also loved raising goats. He had a strong passion for life: from simple things like his red truck to the love of his life, his wife, Linda Rixie. He always enjoyed family time and playing jokes on them with whoopie cushions with his dry sense of humor.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Linda Kay Rixie, whom he married on July 6, 1985, of Middleton; two children, Ricky Crum (Andrea) and Tim Crum (Shari), both of Middleton; two brothers, Wayne Rixie (Betty) and Howard Rixie (Kim), of Middleton; three grandchildren, Alexandrea Crum Walker, Joshua Caleb Crum and Hunter Hill Crum (Ally), all of Middleton; three great-grandchildren, Abel, Axel and Gracie Mae Walker; a niece, Macy King (Jaxon); a nephew, Anthony Rixie (Isaiah, Gabriel); and a cousin, Kenneth Rainey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Sharon Rixie Azotea.
