Mrs. Delores Ann Benton departed this life at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 25 days Monday evening, February 9th, 2021 at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar.
Mrs. Benton was born October 15th, 1936 in Malden, West Virginia to the late Ralph Myers and mother Dimple. On June 25th, 1960 she was united in marriage to Martin Ray Benton, Sr, who preceded her in death, on June 10th, 2013. After Mr. Benton retired from the Air Force, Mr. and Mrs. Benton moved to Washington, where they lived for 20 years prior to moving to Hardeman County.
Mrs. Benton was preceded in death also by her eldest son, Bob Burgess; is survived by two sons, Martin R. Benton, Jr. and wife Teresa, of Colorado Springs, and Mark Allen Benton of Middleton; granddaughter Laurie Burgess, grandson Andrew Benton and wife Heather of Ontario, Canada, granddaughter Angela Hunnicutt and husband Kenneth of St. Louis, MO, granddaughter Tabitha and husband James of Colorado Springs; great-granddaughters Hannah, Brooke, and Abigail, and great-grandsons Jacob, Mikey, Noah, and Keenan.
Mrs. Benton was small but feisty, and much-loved by all who knew her. She had a sense of humor, and would regal a listener with her life stories, full of great detail. She is greatly missed.

* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
