DON PRUETTE
Henderson, TN: Don Franklin Pruette age 85 passed away April 25, 2019 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born October 24, 1933 in Maury City TN in Crockett County and grew up in Maury City, Memphis, TN and then Malesus, TN. He graduated from Malesus High School in 1952 and married Sarah Belle Lovelace of Malesus. They made their home in Malesus and in 1973 they moved to Chester County and opened D & S Saddlery & Western Store as well as trucking livestock and later hauling mail for Barclay, Inc. Don also worked for Guinn Bros. as a car salesman. He enjoyed tooling leather belts and Belle- Franklin Antiques, selling, collecting and refurbishing antiques. He loved riding and showing horses and riding motorcycles. He was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson, TN where he served on the Deacon Body and taught Sunday School.
Mr. Pruette is survived by his wife, Sarah Belle Lovelace Pruette of Henderson and two daughters, Freda Meals of Jackson and Vickie Garland (David) of Pinson; three grandchildren, Richard Meals, Paul Meals and Hollie Shea Reynolds and four great grandchildren, Tanner Meals, Camden Meals, Rachel Paige Meals and Blake Smith; a sister, Linda Drewry (Richard) of Memphis; five nieces, Lara Fenton, Lisa Williams, Cheryl Drewry, Janice Hutcherson and Sally Coley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Woodrow and Clarice Irene Hardin Pruette and a sister, Edna Diane Pruette.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 27th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Tommy Stutts and Bob Agee officiating. Burial will follow in Malesus Ebenezer Cemetery at Medon, TN.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Saturday 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
There will be a Masonic Graveside Service Saturday.
