When health issues forced his retirement he moved back to Savannah where he enjoyed feeding and helping keep an eye on the cattle on his mother's farm. He was an avid reader and especially liked to read the history of any time or place. He had his late father's love of talking and storytelling.
He began attending Robertson's Chapel United Methodist Church as a baby and it has been his church since returning to Savannah. The family asks that memorials go to Robertson's Chapel UMC, 35 Delbert Rd., Savannah, TN 38372
