Donald Lynn (Doodle) Eliff was born August 13, 1955 in Savannah, Tennessee the son of the late Elbert O'dell and Annie Katherine Stewart Eliff.
On May 20, 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he specialized as a helicopter mechanic, and served honorably until July 11, 1977. He graduated from Tennessee Center of Applied Technology with a certification in auto mechanics. This led to mechanic jobs at Pettigrew Ford in Adamsville, Tennessee, and the Brown Shoe Company in Savannah, Tennessee, where he worked as a foreman as well.
"Doodle", as he was known by many, was a very good auto mechanic. He loved watching NASCAR racing. He was also a member of the American Legion. Although he would never ask for any help, he always went out of his way to help others, and loved his family and friends deeply.
He departed this life on May 22, 2019 at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
He is survived by: two sisters, Lucille Thomas and husband Freddy of Adamsville, Tennessee, Ellen Jean Smith and husband Preston of Russellville, Arkansas; two brothers, Stewart Wayne Eliff and wife Sandra of Crump, Tennessee, and Johnny O'dell Eliff of Castleberry, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by: grandparents Johnny Whitfield Stewart, Hester Lucille Ganus Stewart, Harrison McKinley Eliff, Myrtle Jane Davis Eliff; and a brother, Roger Dale Eliff.
