Donald L. "Texas Barber" Barr

Donald L. (Texas Barber) Barr of Adamsville, TN was born August 25, 1938 in Stigler, OK the son of the late John Junior and Minnie Mae Barr. He was united in marriage to Lula Bessie Saxton on June 5, 1972. Mrs. Barr preceded him in death on November 13, 2012.

Donald was a Barber for 46 years having a shop in Selmer prior to retiring. He served his country honorably in the United States Army entering in January 1961 and discharged in January of 1964. He loved going to Cedar Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed singing, especially with the children of the church. Donald was a very loving and generous man. He departed this life on February 1, 2018 in Adamsville, TN at the age of 79 Years, 5 Months, 7 Days.

Donald is survived by three daughters, Donna Bailey of Hempstead, TX, Teresa Curry and husband David of Brookshire, TX, Amy Nunnally and husband Lance of Arlington, TX; five grandchildren, Shelby Bailey, Morgan Bailey, Travis Curry, Nicholas Nunnally, Rachael Nunnally; a brother, Ted Barr and wife Donna of Grandbury, TX; a half-brother, Kenneth McDougel of South Carolina; his special companion, Betty Duck of Adamsville; a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barr was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeff Bailey.
