Doris Crotts Baskin
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 19, 1932 the daughter of the late Leonard and Mamie Welch Crotts.
On November 10, 1949 she was united in marriage to Clarence Edward Baskin, who preceded his wife in death on February 26, 1981.
Doris worked for 30 plus years at Savannah Manufacturing, and retired from the company as an inspector. She attended Souls Harvest Church and Savannah Seventh Day Adventist Church. Doris enjoyed traveling the country extensively, working in her garden, especially with her flowers, and watching the Christian singing on Unity Broadcasting from Adamsville. She was a vegan for 83 years, long before anyone knew what it was.
Doris departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2021 at the age of 89 years and 9 days.
She is survived by her children, Roy Baskin and his wife Mary Lou of Dallas, Texas, Bobby Baskin of Savannah, Tennessee, Ricky Baskin of Selmer, Tennessee, and Randy Baskin and his wife Belynda of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Geraldine Annette Baskin; sister, Juanita Young; and brothers, Warren G. Crotts, L. C. Crotts, and Bill Crotts.
