Dorothy Bullington was born on May 14, 1938 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Vernon and Camilia Mae Robertson Shelby.
On June 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to Dean Meril Bullington, who preceded his wife in death on August 18, 2019.
Before moving to Savannah, Tennessee in 1992, Dorothy lived in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Graham United Methodist Church and Savannah Church of Christ and spent a lot of time reading her Bible. Dorothy also enjoyed watching tv, supporting her children in all sports they were involved in, reading, and cooking.
Dorothy Bullington departed this life on September 9, 2022 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 26 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Austin and her husband Bill of Overland, Missouri, Deanna Bullington of Savannah, Tennessee, and Angelia Hatch of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, George Bullington and his wife Regena of Savannah, Tennessee and Deron Bullington and his wife Kelli of St. Peters, Missouri; sisters, Verna Forrester and Irene Shelby, both of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Misty (Mike), Melissa (Jay), Jennifer (Jeff), Joe (Randa), Mindy (Mike), Matthew (Whitney), Braedin, Grayson, and Alexander; and great grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Hayden, Tessa, Taylor, Hunter, Landon, Trenton, Lynnden, Nathan, Hillary, Madelyn, Emma, and Jesslyn.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, James Dean Bullington; brothers, James W. Shelby and Thomas E. Shelby; grandson, Michael Dean Bullington; and granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Tacker Bullington.
