DORTHEA REYNOLDS STRICKLIN
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 24, 1920 the daughter of the late John Harrison and Nancy Elizabeth Shelby Reynolds.
On May 19, 1939 she was united in marriage to James Riley Stricklin who preceded his wife in death on August 5, 1998.
Mrs. Stricklin was a homemaker. She was a member of Robertson Chapel United Methodist Church since 1939 and was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Stricklin was also a member of the Savannah Home Demonstration Club. She was a devoted wife and mother, she loved spending her time with her family. Mrs. Stricklin was the ultimate farmers wife, she loved working in her rose garden, and vegetable garden. She enjoyed canning the vegetables from her garden. Mrs. Stricklin was also an avid reader.
She departed this life on December 1, 2018 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 7 days.
Mrs. Stricklin is survived by her children, Don R. Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee, James (Mac) Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee, Mary Elaine Stricklin Raines of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Dona Annette Stricklin Williams of Paducah, Kentucky; daughters in law, Patricia R. Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee and Pam Clark of Maryland; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, Robert Reynolds of San Diego, California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Kimberly Stricklin and William Ray Stricklin; one brother, William Vernon Reynolds and two sisters, Mary Dona Watson and Grace Miller.
