DOUG HOLSING
was born in Faulkton, South Dakota on April 1, 1953 the son of Ivan Earl Holsing and the late Deloris Marie Wagner Holsing.
On November 12, 2005 he was united in marriage to Sherry June Thomas, who survives.
Doug took pride in being a self employed truck driver for 20 years, but had been in the trucking business for 45 years. He was an active member of Love and Truth Church in Adamsville where he served as an usher and wherever else he was needed. Giving to others and helping those in need were cornerstone virtues in Doug's life. He strived to be everything God wanted him to be. He shared his love for life by inviting friends and family over for fun, food, and games, especially his grandchildren. His house was always filled with love and laughter. Doug could often be found outdoors working around the house. Afterwards, he and Sherry would enjoy a glass bottled root beer on the deck. If he were ever inside, it was to watch a little golf or Indianapolis Colts football. He and Sherry would start their mornings reading the Word and doing devotions. Treating his family to vacations was something he looked forward to yearly.
Doug departed this life on September 30, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 29 days.
In addition to his wife, Sherry of 12 years, he is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Moore and her husband Steven of Medina, Tennessee and Kristina Swift and her husband Anthony of Jackson, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Ella Moore, Addison Moore, Amelia Moore and Josiah Swift; his father, Ivan Earl Holsing of Rapid City, South Dakota; six sisters, Joetta Koeser and her husband Ward of Williston, North Dakota, Peggy Galloway and her husband Dan of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Marva Mingledorff of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lauralee Holsing of Rapid City, South Dakota, Linda Joneson and her husband Mark of Rapid City, South Dakota and Rosalee Lister and her husband Dave of Midland, Maryland; three brothers, Stuart Holsing and his wife Janet of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Terry Holsing of Rapid City, South Dakota and Keven Holsing and his wife Luyba of Seattle, Washington; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his large loving family he was warmly known as Papa Doug and loved by many.
