Duetroe Larry Burnett

Mr. Duetroe Larry Burnett, age 76 of Mercer, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Maplewood Health Care Center in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and burial will follow the service at Vernon Cemetery in Cloverport, TN.

Mr. Burnett was born on Sunday, November 1, 1942, in Hardeman County, TN. He worked in pest control for 30 years and founded Homestead Pest Control. A graduate of Bolivar Central High Class of 1960, he loved to write, sing with the Maple Springs Quartet, and was blessed with a great sense of humor. He lived most of his life in the Madison-Hardeman County area and returned to Uptonville around 1976.

Mr. Burnett is survived by his daughter, Vickie Burnett of Memphis, TN; his son, Dwayne Burnett of Mercer, TN; a sister, Brenda Kennon of Toone, TN; two grandchildren, Bethany Burnett and Jakob Burnett; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Kelly and Arabella Burnett; and a nephew, Michael Morgan.
