Earl Stricklin departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2020, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 10 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on October 31, 1932, the son of the late Clarence Jefferson and Ora Bell Williams Stricklin. On December 21, 1952, he was united in marriage to Virginia Inez Tidwell, who survives.
Earl enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had been a master logger for over 30 years, a bus driver for Hardin County Schools for 38 years, and had been a farmer since the age of fourteen.
Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Inez Tidwell Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; children, David Stricklin and wife Rita, Randy Stricklin and wife Kathy, Vernie Stricklin and wife Jan, all of Savannah, Tennessee, Roger Stricklin and wife Wanda of Waterloo, Alabama, Booter Stricklin and wife Tammy, Becky Allen and husband Tim, and Darrell Stricklin and wife Amanda, all of Savannah, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Toney of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; and brothers, Boyd Stricklin of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Loyd Stricklin, and Gloyd Stricklin, both of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a grandchild, Andrea Stricklin; and sisters, Elveta Stricklin and Edith Scott.
