EDGAR DONALD TOMLINSON
Was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi on May 6, 1931 the son of the late Andrew Faulkner and Cynthia Catherine Burchette Tomlinson.
On August 20, 1953 he was united in marriage to Betty Lanell Smith, who survives.
Edgar served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and received 2 Bronze Citations and a Purple Heart for his service. Edgar retired from Irby Construction Company, where he worked as a Superintendent.
He departed this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 89 years and 27 days.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, Betty of Adamsville, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Sheila Phillips of Florence, Alabama, Donna McCasland of Adamsville, Tennessee and Wesley Tomlinson of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell of Florence, Alabama, Jeff Mitchell of Lebanon, Tennessee, April Phillips of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kristopher Tomlinson of Louisiana, Contessa Tomlinson of Adamsville, Tennessee and Stephanie McCasland of Adamsville, Tennessee; six great grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
