Edna Turnbow was born in Kendrick, Mississippi on January 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Leonard Ray and Vary Elizabeth Cummings Howard. On January 15, 1971, she was united in marriage to Joe Neal Turnbow, who preceded her in death on March 14, 2012. Mrs. Turnbow departed this life on July 26, 2018, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 21 days.
In her lifetime, Mrs. Turnbow worked at Brown Shoe Company and Angelica Manufacturing. She attended Center Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Turnbow was a homemaker. She loved children, and she always enjoyed having a yard full of children playing ball. Gardening, canning, and sewing were a few of her favorite things.
Mrs. Turnbow is survived by her daughters, Edna Sue Spencer and husband John of Stantonville, Tennessee, Joyce Faye Clausel and husband Larry of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Sandra Kay Thompson of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Jerry Dan Terry of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Leslie Howard of Rougemont, North Carolina; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Turnbow was preceded in death by her sons, JC Terry, Bobby Joe Terry, David Mike (Red) Terry, Thomas Earl (Boe) Terry; brothers, Sylvia Ruth Williams McCain, Wallace Howard, Elgin Barto Howard, and Robert L. Howard; and great grandchildren, Emily Grace Jackson and Daisy Allison Terry.
