Mr. Goddard died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
He was born in Saulsbury, TN, the son of the late Edwin L. Goddard and Lura Brotherton Goddard. He was a 1945 graduate of Grand Junction High School and on Friday, June 3, 1949, he was married to the former Carolyn Marie Doyle. Mrs. Goddard passed from this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 after 64 years of marriage.
Mr. Goddard served in the US Army and returned to Saulsbury where he was a substitute mail carrier and cattle farmer. For most of his life, he was a carpenter and was retired from Fawcett Lumber Company in Hickory Valley. He was a member of Holmes Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mr. Goddard is survived by two daughters, Judy Goddard of Olive Branch, MS and Sandra Hobson and husband, Barry, of Ashland, MS; a granddaughter, Candice Hobson Nutt and husband, Chris, of Ashland, MS; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Marie Nutt; a sister, Bettye Goddard of Millington, TN; four nieces, two nephews and caregiver, Lora Ray.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wood and Beatrice Waddell; and two brothers, his twin, Charles L. Goddard and Henry B. Goddard, Sr.
