Ella Ruth Cole Flippo

July 19, 1937 - October 29, 2020

Ella Ruth Flippo was born July 19, 1937 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Roy Franklin and Mary Ann Pulley Cole.She was united in marriage to W.C. Flippo on June 27, 1958. Mr. Flippo preceded her in death on May 4 ,2011 .Mrs. Flippo departed this life at her home on October 29, 2020 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 3 Months, 10 Days.Mrs. Flippo was a homemaker and babysitter for many years. She has also worked as a Girl Scout Leader and teacher at Green River Baptist Mother Day Out. She was a member of Green River Tabernacle where she taught Sunday School and Childrens Church for many years. She attended Cannon Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Cleveland Flippo and wife Pam ,daughter, Delores Ashworth all of Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Brianna Ashworth of Gallatin, TN, Christopher Flippo of Waynesboro, TN;a brother Gilbert Cole, wife Lefan and sister Patricia Long In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Flippo was preceded in death by son-in-law Wayne Ashworth, brothers, William Cole, Hardin Cole, and Paul David Cole; a grandchild, Ryan Ashworth; Services will be held on November 2, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Danny Clark, Larry Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee Visitation will be held November 1 from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm and November 2 from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm at the Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro. Pallbearers include Cori Don Staggs, Justin Paul Davidson, Wayne Hicks, DeWayne Cole, Franklin Cole and Christopher Flippo Honorary Pallbeares include Daniel Flippo, James William Flippo, Braxton Butler, Justice Bell, LeRay Gulley and Justin Sanders
