Emma Lutrell

October 5, 1940 — November 19, 2018

On October 5, 1940, a beautiful baby girl, with blue eyes and red hair was born to the late Jamie & Mirl Reynolds. Emma Loyce, was welcomed by siblings Eldene, Roxie, Irene, James, Frank, and Rilla. Following Emma were, Harris, Danny, and Tommy, that completed the Reynolds household, in the Burnt Church Community.

On June 19, 1959, Emma happily married her high school sweetheart, Willie Edwin “Ed” Lutrell, who survives. They were married for 59 1/2 years and were committed to their vows; for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, til death do us part. From this union, were blessings of surviving children; a daughter, Gina Head-Hieber and husband Steven, of Springfield, TN and a son; Chris Lutrell and wife Donna of Savannah, TN. Grandchildren who survive are Chucky Head and wife Amanda, Jamie Head, Abbey Head, Kristen Bomar and husband Jacob, and Cassie Lutrell. Great grandchildren Lilah Head, Kayleigh Grace & Emma Bomar, Mack, Reed, & Riley Short. Others left to cherish the memory of their sister are, James Reynolds and his wife Marcella of Savannah, Tennessee, Harris Reynolds and his wife Mary of Savannah, Tennessee and Danny Reynolds and his wife Nancy of Foley, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews, kinfolks, and friends.

For many years, Emma operated, “Emma’s Hair Fashion” in her home. It was also the place where her granddaughters and great-granddaughters enjoyed playing, “Beauty Shop”. Emma also worked at several garment factories in Savannah, but her favorite job was being “Mamaw”! She adored her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed anything they were involved in. Emma loved flowers and vegetable gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, and her dog, Izzy. Through the years, Emma enjoyed traveling to visit family in East Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Illinois and also, traveled with close family/friends out West and to Washington D.C.

Emma loved her community and always thought of others above herself. She was a wonderful Christian example and had a servants heart. Emma was a member of the Whites FCE Club, served as co-chairmen, with husband Ed, of the Burnt Church-Olivet Community American Heart Association. She always helped with heart fund benefits in the area and loved to sing as a member of the “Vernon Plunk and the Country Strings”. She often sang with the “Turkey Creek Quartet” at church and in the area Nursing Homes. She served many years at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, teaching children’s Sunday school, Girls in Action, serving as church treasurer and was involved in the Woman’s Missionary Union. Emma also served on the Hardin County Fair Board. In most recent years, Emma and Ed were members of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

On November 19, 2018, Emma was called home to heaven, at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 14 days.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; one grandson, Tyler Head; four sisters, Eldene Robinson, Irene Robinson, Roxie Livengood and Rilla Worshum; and two brothers, Frank Reynolds and Tommy Reynolds.
