ERMA DEAN CLAYTON

Henderson, TN: Erma Dean Gee Clayton age 70 passed away June 12, 2019 at her home.

She was born July 15, 1948 in McNairy County and reared in the Refuge community, the daughter of the late John Dewey and Cora Ellen Archer Gee. She attended McNairy County Schools and married Dennis Clayton in 1965. They made their home at Hickory Corner. She worked at Chester Mfg. for a short time. She loved to read, enjoyed walking, loved music and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the New Home Baptist Church.

Mrs. Clayton is survived by her husband, Dennis Clayton of Henderson, a son, Denny Clayton and wife Maria of Henderson; two daughters, Angie Clayton of Bethel Springs and Debbie Comer and husband Dwight of Michie, TN; four grandchildren, Dara Young (Will), Erin King (Joey), Logan Clayton and Ben Clayton and four great grandchildren, Brynli Young, Braeden Green, Madison Green and Owen Young; a brother, Frank Gee of Hernando, MS and three sisters, Nell Shelton, Linda Price and Judy Moore all of Bethel Springs; and a special niece, Rhonda Wheeler of Selmer who was raised like a sister, but she loved all of her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Gee and Windell Gee and four sisters, Shirley Maness, Wanda Plunk, Phyllis Clayton and Kathleen Austin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at New Home Baptist Church with Bro. Gerald Smith and Bro. Paul Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday.
