Esther Mae Reeves

Esther Mae Matlock Reeves was born January 22, 1928 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late William H. and Estella Walker Matlock. She was united in marriage to Floyd Harold Reeves, Sr. on October 30, 1943 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1981.

Mrs. Reeves was a retired factory worker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee and departed this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her home at the age of 90 Years, 11 Months, 4 Days.

She is survived by sons, Joe David Reeves of Waynesboro, TN and Johnny Reeves and wife, Janie of Portland, TN; daughters, Betty Risner and husband, Gene of Iron City, TN, Mary Ann Butler and husband, James and Barbara S. (Bobbie) Davis all of Waynesboro, TN; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Harold Reeves Jr.; a daughter, Gearldene (Reeves) Thrasher; seven grandchildren; brothers, William M., William Jay and James R. Matlock; a sister, Mary Frances Haynes.

Services will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Eric Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday, December 28, 2018 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kaynen Butler, Sheyenne Reeves, Canyon Pulley, Kodi Thrasher, Kyler Staggs and Jaythen Staggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Teryn James, Luke Holt and Gunner Andrews.
