EVA JOY WAMBLE
Henderson, TN: Eva Joy Williams Wamble age 84 passed away July 15, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1930 at Pinson, TN the daughter of the late John Henry and Eva Christine Wooley Williams. She graduated from Pinson High School in 1948, graduated West Tennessee Business College, and went to work at South Central Bell as an operator. She married Robert Lee Wamble in 1960 and they made their home in Henderson. She and Robert owned and operated Wamble Brokerage until 1980. She later worked as a dispatcher for the Chester County Sheriff’s Department. They were also part owners of BoWevil Express. Mr. Wamble died in 1996.
She was very active in the Big Springs United Methodist Church having served as the church bookkeeper.
She served many years on the Chester County Republican Party Executive Committee, where she also served as an officer and also had served on the Chester County Election Commission.
She was a member of the Eastern Star #120 and had served in various stations of the chapter.
Mrs. Wamble was very active with the Department of Human Services providing a home for many children in transition.
She had been a member of the Henderson B P & W and the VFW Auxiliary.
Mrs. Wamble is survived by a son, Jeff Wamble of Memphis; two step children, Dr. Tony Wamble of Henderson and Patsy Wamble Seratt of Finger; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Williams of Jackson and two sisters, Maxine Russom of Henderson and Carolyn Haynes of Union City, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Wamble in 1996; four brothers, Jim Williams, Gerald Williams, Ben Williams and Pete Williams and two sisters, Betty Grace Stewart and Mary Murchison.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dyer and Joe McCormick officiating and burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday.
