Faye Dean Rich

February 5, 1933 — October 3, 2014

Faye Dean Hayes Rich of Cypress Inn, TN was born February 5, 1933 in Lutts, TN, the daughter of the late Marvin Carl and Lillie Belle Holt Hayes. She was united in marriage to Hoover Ray Rich on June 9, 1955 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1999. Mrs. Rich was a 1951 graduate of Collinwood High School (where she was voted neatest by her class) and a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ where she was very active up until her recent illness. She loved to quilt and crochet and many family members and friends were recipients of her lovely creations. She definitely had a green thumb and her home and yard were filled with beautiful flowers and plants. She kept her large yard neat and appealing by mowing and trimming it herself. She enjoyed reading and puzzles and watching her favorite TV game shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a loving "Mamaw" to her three grandchildren and enjoyed cooking their favorite foods for them. Her specialties were chocolate pie, blackberry cobbler and chocolate chip cookies. Mrs. Rich departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 81 years, 7 months, 28 days after a brief illness. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Hunt and husband, Charles of Waynesboro, TN and a son, Dwight Rich of Lutts, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Alley and husband, Scotty of Clifton, TN and Tyler and Hannah Hunt of Waynesboro, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Harl Rich of Florence, AL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Pamela Keener Rich; grandaughter, Savannah Rae Rich; sisters, Mauveline Simon, Adean Brown and Judy Martin. Mrs. Rich's family is following her request of direct cremation without a service. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lutts, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, assisting the family. The family requests memorial donations be made to Mt. Hope Cemetery Fund, % Landon Smith, 199 Arlie Smith Road, Lutts, TN, 38471 or The Butterfuly Foundation, P. O. Box 212, Waynesboro, TN 38485.

"Weep not for me though I am gone into the gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest, there is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed. For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, the fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts, in your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath, remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, but CELEBRATE my life." (Author unknown)
