FLOYD WAMBLE
Finger, TN: Floyd Allen Wamble age 76 passed away February 2, 2021 at his home.
He was born November 2, 1944 in the Old Friendship Community of Chester County, the son of the late Raymon and Edith Lorene Davidson Wamble. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1962. He married Sharon Jones in 1964. They made their home in the Old Friendship Community. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for over thirty years, where he met and made many close friends. He farmed as a young man with the Wamble family. He worked as a long haul truck driver with Jones Contractors, Williams Steel, BoWevil Express and TJ&L Construction.
He was a wonderful father and husband. He enjoyed telling stories and never met a stranger.
He had served on the Chester County Republican Party Executive Committee and had served on the Chester County Court as a Commissioner.
He was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church.
Mr. Wamble is survived by his wife, Sharon Jean Jones Wamble; two sons, Bart Wamble and Chad Wamble both of Henderson and a daughter, Stephanie Wamble Clayton (Jeff) of Finger; two brothers, Jere Neal Wamble (Ella) of Finger and Jimmy Lee Wamble of Finger and a sister, Mary Alice Oliver (Danny) of Humboldt.
Mr. Wamble has six grandchildren, Rhett Woody, Courtni Woody, Hayden Clayton, Rusty Wamble, Reed Wamble, Sophi Wamble and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Chasity Clayton Thomas in 2019.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral directors – Crook Avenue with Glenn Harris and Heath Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
