Frances Maxwell Baker, 93, of Bolivar, passed away Wed., November 4 at her home in Bolivar.
She was born April 13, 1927 in Middleton, daughter of the late William Oscar Maxwell and Gertrude Strickland Maxwell and lived her whole life here. She was a 1944 graduate of Bolivar Central High School, marrying James Allen Baker on July 20, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. She worked in accounting at Western Mental Health Institute for 28 years and also at Bolivar Electric, the Gas Department and Dixie Gas. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard with her shrubs and flowers, and shopping. Mrs. Baker was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Madden (Mike) of Bolivar; a son, Allen Baker (Linda) of Bolivar; a grandson, Corey Madden ( Meagan) of Bolivar; a great grandchild, Bryce Madden of Bolivar; two nephews, Doug and Jimmy Maxwell of Bolivar; and two nieces, Linda Landreth of Bolivar and Teresa Theiner of Collierville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Everett and Malcolm Maxwell and two sisters, Ruth Campbell and Liggie Dickson. * Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
