FRANCES M. WOODY
Pinson, TN: Frances Marlene Plunk Woody age 81, passed away January 9, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born June 15, 1940 in Henderson, the daughter of the late David Arthur and Alma Alene Spencer Plunk. She married Larry Woody in 1957. They lived most of their married life in Henderson, where Mr. Woody was superintendent of the water department for the City of Henderson and Mrs. Woody served as the custodian at First Baptist Church for twenty-four years. She retired in 2002. They made their home in Pinson since 2013. Mr. Woody died February 6, 2020.
She was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church in Jackson.
She loved to garden, grow flowers, and enjoyed crafts, sewing and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Woody is survived by a son, Douglas Larry Woody of Pinson; three daughters, Debbie Cupples and husband Garey of Pinson, Angie Hudson and husband Joe of Jackson and Cindy Pica and husband Mark of Jackson; six grandchildren, Robert ‘Bo’ Cupples (Julie), Rhett Woody (Kristi), Courtni Woody, Kaleigh Clark (Robert), Nicholas Pica and Alexandria ‘Lexi’ Pica; three great grandchildren, Cooper Cupples, Kenli Collins and Liliana Woody.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two half-sisters, Joy Marsh Wallace and Geraldine Roberts.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 12th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Larry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Wednesday.
Due to COVID the family request that everyone please wear a mask during visitation and funeral service.
