Freeda Browder Yancey
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 13, 1933 the daughter of the late Hallie Wilburn and Blanche Opal Hopper Ellis.
On June 26, 1955 she was united in marriage to Max D. Browder, who preceded his wife in death on August 21, 1994. On October 20, 2000 she was united in marriage to Charles F. Yancey, who survives.
Freeda was a homemaker. She was a member of Milledgeville Methodist Church and Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee. In her spare time she enjoyed playing checkers, monopoly, and bridge. Freeda had a green thumb and loved gardening.
She departed this life on August 22, 2022 in Cordova, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
In addition to her husband of 21 years, Charles Yancey of Bartlett, Tennessee, she is survived by one son, Hal Browder of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter, Kimberly Browder Davis and her husband Ronald of Cordova, Tennessee; grandchildren, Magevney Davis Strickland and her husband Scott, Benjamin Davis and his wife Laura, and Abigail Davis; great grandchildren, Kirsten Strickland, Audrey Strickland, Charlotte Davis, Clara Davis, and Rosalie Davis; and sister, Gerry Ellis Williams of Maumelle, Arkansas.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Ward.
