FREMON MCCASLAND
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on April 19, 1926 the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Belle Thacker McCasland.
On July 10, 1945 he was united in marriage to Helen Jordan, who preceded her husband in death on April 29, 2018.
Fremon served his country honorably in the United States Navy, where he was Fireman First Class. He served August 12, 1944 until March 7, 1946, serving during World War II. Fremon was also retired plant manager for Angelica Uniform Corporation in Collinwood, Tennessee. He was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ. In his spare time Fremon enjoyed playing the guitar and he was really into electronics like building stereos, reel to reel and making family videos. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, each grandchild was special to him. Fremon enjoyed going to Shiloh National Military Park and he loved meeting and getting acquainted with veterans of any branch of service.
Fremon departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 26 days
He is survived by his children, Linda Woodward and her husband Larry of Paragould, Arkansas, Celia Heavner and her husband Randy of Jackson, Tennessee and Steve McCasland and his wife Anna of Savannah, Tennessee; and 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Love.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
