GEARLEEN RICHARDSON MANESS
Pinson, TN: Gearleen Richardson Maness age 97, passed away September 6, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born August 28, 1924 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Ivy L. and Birdie Lee Young Richardson. She attended Wilson School and Henderson City School.
She married Hardin W. Maness, Sr. in January 1940. They owned and operated “The Pig Stand” a grocery and service station. They also owned another store in Pinson and another one in Selmer for many years.
She also was a Mental Health Counselor at Jackson Madison General Hospital, retiring after twenty plus years.
She enjoyed shopping and working puzzles.
Mrs. Maness is survived by two sons, Hardin W. Maness, Jr. (Brenda) of Pinson and Ronnie G. Maness (Dorothy) of Jackson; a grandson, Rodney Lee Maness, one great grandchild and two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph Richardson (Carol) of Pinson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George William Richardson, James Richardson and Franklin Richardson and three sisters, Lula Mae Schultz, Learleen Tedford and Joyce Patton.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 10th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Ken Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM Friday.
