Geneva Rinks was born on October 24, 1927 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arthur Morris and Lura Falls Blount.
On November 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to E. J. Rinks, Jr. who preceded his wife in death on January 2, 2001.
Mrs. Rinks formerly worked for Brown Shoe Company in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Tennessee, Meals on Wheels, Hardin County Home Demonstration Club, and Cumberland Presbyterian Women (CPW). Geneva loved her family dearly and would always ask about them even during her sickness. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to make quilts. She also loved knitting and it was one of her favorite hobbies. She was a wonderful cook and loved to have a garden and put up vegetables.
Geneva Rinks departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 1 month, and 18 days.
She is survived by her sons, Randy Rinks and his wife Sheri and Buddy Rinks and his wife Denise, all of Savannah, Tennessee; brother, Ancil Blount of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Enoch Rinks, Dana Grussmeyer, Mandi Gaskin, Emily Potvin, Ethan Rinks, and Emma Soechting; and great grandchildren, Lydia Potvin, Pierce Potvin, Mario Potvin, Rinks Gaskin, Ford Gaskin, Anna Rinks, Gracie Rinks, Quentin Soechting, Vivian Soechting, and Arthur Soechting.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Carl Williams Blount, Allie Matilda Jane Blount, Maxell Jason Blount, Arthur Morris Blount, Glen Robert Blount, James Douglas Blount, Delmas McKay Blount, and Danny Wayne Blount.
