George Edward Lynn

George Edward Lynn was born January 30, 1955 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late John Andrew and Mildred Jewel Warren Lynn. Mr. Lynn departed this life on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville at the age of 64 years and 10 days. Mr Lynn, a truck driver, served in the U.S. Army during the years of 1975 until 1981 earning the title Sgt. E 5.

He is survived by two sons, Joshua Edward Lynn, wife Renee, of Foley, AL, George Andrew Lynn of Pensacola, FL, three brothers, Hershel Lynn, wife Elaine, and Johnny Lynn all of Waynesboro, TN, Mike Lynn, wife Beth, of Jackson, TN, two sisters, Sally Lynn of Lawrenceburg, TN, Geraldine Blalock, husband Danny, of Waynesboro, TN, two grandchildren, Jonah Edward Lynn and Jamison Dean Lynn, and girlfriend Jerri McCafferty of Lawrenceburg TN. , several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lynn was preceded in death by a grandchild, Vivian Rae Lynn.


Services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Casey Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Scottie Blalock, Stoney Lynn, Jon Michael Lynn, Kolby Lynn, Dylan Martin, and Ron Elliott. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Blalock and Dustin Blalock.
