George "Mike" Womble of Killen, AL

October 6, 1947 - February 15, 2022

George (Mike) Womble was born October 6, 1947 in Pulaski, TN the son of the late George L. and Ona Grace Barnickle Womble. He was united in marriage to Betty Franks on September 15, 1966. Mr. Womble worked for International Paper in Courtland, Alabama for over 37 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially at his favorite place - Port Saint Joe, Florida. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Womble departed this life on February 15, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 4 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife Betty (Franks) Womble of Killen, AL; a son, David Womble of Killen, AL; two daughters, Sharon Chandler and husband Rick of Hornsby, TN, Kimberly Gibbs Cross of Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren, Kristi Chandler, John-Michael Chandler, Cullen Chandler, and Mandi Gregory; a brother, Steve Womble of Lawrenceburg, TN; a sister, Juanita Sneed and husband Teddy of Etheridge, TN; sister-in-law, Marjorie Singleton and husband John of Killen, AL; and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Womble was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sherry Womble.
