Mr. Hooper, age 74 of Toone, passed from this life on Friday morning, August 21, 2020 at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sarah Hooper of Toone; two daughters, Debbie (Billy) Turner of Toone and Angie (Denton) Shearin of Lexington, KY; one son, Steven (Rhonda) Hooper of Jackson; four sisters, Charlotte and Sandy Hooper of Toone, Connie (David) Pickard of Toone and Linda (Jim) Clem of Texarkana, TX; three brothers, Larry (Karen), Donald and Tony Hooper, all of Toone; five grandchildren, Brooke Turner, Haleigh and Grant Hooper and Jessica and Houston Shearin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hooper is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm R. and Margaret Evelyn Ballard Hooper; and a nephew, Justin Pickard.
Born in Memphis, he lived most all of his life in Hardeman County where he worked farming and had been owner of Hooper Lumber Co. becoming a master lumber inspector. Mr. Hooper was a long time member of the Maple Springs Baptist Church and a member of Roe Boone's Sunday School Class.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles, gardening and genealogies. An avid music lover, he learned to play the piano, enjoyed listening to any Bob Seger music and was heavily involved in the manufacturing of Johnny Rabb drumsticks.

* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;

* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
