Gertie Mae Hopkins was born March 25, 1922 in Potts Camp, MS the daughter of the late Oscar and Maudie Buchanan Brown.
She married Hubert F. Graham on September 26, 1943. Mr. Graham passed away on January 23, 1951. She married Robert Bennie Hopkins on November 13, 1958. Mr. Hopkins passed away on December 2, 1970.
Mrs. Hopkins owned the Circle Drive Inn, worked at Western State Mental Hospital and retired as a store clerk from B&R Junk Store. She was a member of Selmer Women of the Moose #1529, she received many awards from the Women of the Moose for her service and charitable work.
She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, great and great-great's. She loved to read and had many beautiful plants. She was a very special lady and loved by many.
Mrs. Hopkins departed this life on August 10, 2013 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 4 Months, 16 Days. She is survived by son, Gene Graham and wife Donna of Selmer, TN; stepson, Rudolph Hopkins and wife Jean of Bethel Springs, TN; two stepdaughters, Doris Hawkins and husband Donald of Selmer, TN, Rebecca Deberry of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Vickie James and husband Billy of Selmer, TN, Sandy Graham and husband Terry of Selmer, TN; twelve great grandchildren, Bridget Smith and husband Danny, Cody James, Terra Graham, Kelly Irons and husband Antoine, Wendy Luster and husband Tyrone, Michael Graham and wife Kathy, Felicia Baxter and husband Moses, Kasie Lambert, Nicholas Dickey, Dusten Lambert, Matthew James, Steven Poe and wife Nancy; 22 great-great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by a daughter, Lota M. Campbell; three grandchildren, Cheryl Howell, Darlene "Bubbles" Forsyth, Steven Dale Powell; five sisters, Dovie Littlejohn, Jewel Littlejohn, Jolene McDaniel, Ruby Watson, Lemmie King; two brothers, Robert and Frank Brown.
