On August 2, 2019, Gladys L McCullar Barham, 86, loving wife and mother of three girls, transitioned to her heavenly home after a long illness.
She loved Jesus, and even in her last moments, she never forgot Him. She constantly prayed and encouraged others in their walk with Christ. She was known for her Christ-like attitude, infectious smile, vibrant personality, and her sweet and compassionate spirit.
She loved her family, fresh flowers, southern gospel music, sweet ice-tea, and apricot cake.
Gladys, known to her husband as Shorty, was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer D. and Ollie B. (King) McCullar of Selmer, TN; her brothers, Charles, Robert, and J. B. McCullar; and a grandson, Jock A. McMurry. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles A. Barham of Cordova, TN; her three daughters, Pamelia A. McMurry (Thomas) of Memphis, TN, Loretta J. Eidson (Kenneth) of Olive Branch, MS, and Tina A. Crum (Jack) of Cordova, TN; a brother, James McCullar (Mary) of Selmer, TN; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Collierville Funeral Home, Collierville, TN on Sunday, August 4th. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Selmer, TN on Monday, August 5th, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Crump Cemetery, Crump, TN. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Barham may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
