Gladys Laverne Seaton Kirk was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 15, 1955, the daughter of Garmon and Annie Mae Austin Seaton. She graduated from Thornridge High School and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Harvey, Illinois. Gladys returned home to Savannah, Tennessee in 1987, and worked for Brown Shoe Company and eventually becoming an Associate at Wal-Mart where she was an employee for 26 years.
She felt most at home working in her ornamental pond and her flower garden, places she loved to spend time. Gladys was also an avid amateur gemologist.
On November 3, 2019 Gladys departed this life at the age of 64 years and 18 days. She leaves to mourn her passing her partner of over 50 years, Jessie Eugene Kirk, Jr., of Savannah, Tennessee, her son Michael Kirk and his wife Amy of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and her daughter Chana Burns of Savannah, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Haberman and her husband Jim of San Dimas, California, Bettie Champlin of Thousand Oaks, California, Reba Seaton of Billings, Montana, Marie Deberry of Savannah, Tennessee, and Brenda Nystrom and her husband Randy of Bensenville, Illinois, as well as her brothers Larry Dean Seaton of Demotte, Indiana and Delbert Seaton and his wife Charlene of Streamwood, Illinois. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Cindy Rollins of Winchester, Tennessee, her grandchildren Nicholas Gage Andrews and Hannah Nicole Burns, both of Savannah, Tennessee, and Emily Grace Kirk of Tuscumbia, Alabama, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her brother Elton Seaton and her sister Edith Gail Seaton.
