Mr. Watkins passed from this life on Friday evening, October 20, 2017, at his home near Saulsbury, TN.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Barney Wilford and Nicie Maude Shearon Watkins. Mr. Watkins worked for over 40 years at Sequentia in Grand Junction, TN and on November 12, 1963 was united in marriage to Bobbie Jean Lambert, who survives.
He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and his membership was a Friendship Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, raising animals, racing and working on lawn mowers. He was devoted to spending time with family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sheila Jean Mayes (Marc) of Saulsbury; two sons, Glen Watkins, Jr. of Walnut, MS and Billy Joe Watkins (Michelle) of Saulsbury, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who regarded him as "Grandpa".
Preceding him in death are his parents; a daughter, Tammie Renee' Watkins, three sisters, Audrey Griffin, Eunice Hill and Thelma Jean Watkins; and seven brothers, Jack, Malcolm, Wilford, Wesley, Dennis, John Louis and Kenneth Watkins.
