Glenn D. Ferguson was born January 3, 1948 in Starkville, MS the son of the late Dale Dawson (D. D.) and Glenda Bratton Ferguson.
He was united in marriage to Lucretia Cornelius on March 9, 1973.
Glenn graduated from Selmer High School in 1966, where he was a standout in both football and basketball. He was also active in 4-H, attending the National Congress as a Delegate. After graduation Glenn attended Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville. He delivered and performed maintenance work for Coca-Cola in Corinth for 10 years and was a supervisor for Kolpak and Connector Castings in Selmer for 10 more years before retiring due to health reasons. Glenn was a United Way Volunteer and served his State for 6 years as a member of the Tennessee National Guard. Quail and coon hunting were two of his favorite hobbies; he raised, trained, and sold bird dogs for many years. Glenn was a loyal Mississippi State fan who loved his family and friends and always enjoyed having a good time. He was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church in Ramer.
Mr. Ferguson departed this life on August 2, 2018 in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 70 Years, 6 Months, 30 Days. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucretia (Cornelius) Ferguson of Selmer, TN; two sons, Brian Ferguson and wife Keli of Ramer, TN and Brent Ferguson of Selmer, TN; four grandchildren: Cole Waller, Kooper Jones, Sadie Ferguson, and Ridge Ferguson; two sisters, Kay Donaldson and husband George and Molly Cheshier and husband Jack, all of Selmer, TN; a brother-in-law, Keith Misenhimer of Selmer, TN; and many nieces,nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Misenhimer.
