Gracie Ann Denton was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 8, 1942, the daughter of the late Dewey Burns and Ruby Katheleen Gooch Lewis. Mrs. Denton departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 9 days.
Mrs. Denton lived in Hardin County all of her life and attended The Carpenters Shop. She was a homemaker, enjoyed going on cruises, going to church, being with her family and cooking, especially during the holidays.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Rena Collum Murphy, Glen Collum, Jr. and wife Debbie, Vickey Lynn Veo, Glenda Ann Collum Sylvester and husband John, Darryl Dewayne Collum and wife Dawn, Ronald Lewis Collum and wife Jeopardy Kyle, and Angelia Denise Denton and husband Kenny, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Murphy and wife Rebecca, Amy Beth Collum Melson and husband Ricky, Robert Hunt, Matthew Peric, Margaret Grace Roach, Charles B. "Chucky" Tucker IV and wife Ashley, Christopher Dewayne Collum, Jennifer Collum Flores, Hunter Kyle, Justin Aker, Thomas Drew Howell, Meagan Rea Howell, Jennifer Collum Flores, Hayden Lewis Collum, and Bryson Glen Collum; great grandchildren, Cody Melson, Ashlyn Grace Odell, Audriahna Marie Roach, Brody Leigh Bixler, Elijah Kane Tucker, Aiden Flores, and Adriana Flores; sisters, Wanda Lewis Carraway of Houston, Texas and Shelia Ann Powell Elpers and husband Tommy of Houston, Texas; brothers, Billy Joe Lewis and wife Jennie and Lawrence Cude, all of Savannah, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Collum; second husband, Robert E. Denton; two infant children; grandson, James Patrick Veo, Jr.; son-in-law, James Patrick, Sr.; sister, Ruby "Pearl" Hollins Hairrell Melton; and grandparents, William E. Lewis, Mary Jane "Mattie" Spears, and Annie Milton Gooch.
