Mrs. Hodge departed this life Friday, August 31, 2018 at her home.
A native of Middleton, she was born on Monday, August 22, 1927, the daughter of the late Earl Parnell Pipkins and Ethel Idell Ledford Pipkins. She attended schools in Middleton and had lived in Memphis and Jackson before settling back in this area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn E. and Jerry Pipkins.
On Friday, July 24, 1964, she married her childhood sweetheart, Mr. W. T. "Bill" Hodge, Jr. Mr. Hodge passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015. She had been a member of Hebron Baptist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, WMU director, working with the children's "Mission Friends" group, and on the kitchen committee. She was busy in her community by caring for those around her making sure they were fed either at their home or her's. She enjoyed conducting home-bound Bible studies for those unable to attend worship and also was a member of Malesus Baptist Church.
In her leisure time, Mrs. Hodge enjoyed gardening, yard work (especially her flowers), working on the farm, sewing, cooking, crafts, hummingbirds and the color blue.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Chuck) Horner of Hayward, CA and Beverly (Charles) Donaldson of Jackson; one brother, Ed (Dean) Pipkin of Memphis; five grandchildren, Keith (Peggy) Donaldson, Brian (Jennifer) Donaldson, Karen (Stacey) Dew, Christal (Thomas) Castro and Aaron (Cathy) Horner; and nine great-grandchildren, Kelli (Derek) Long, Braden Donaldson, Dylan Donaldson, Austin Dew, Mae Horner, Anna Horner, E. J. Horner, Keagan Castro and Brayden Castro.
