Harris "Tootsie" Gene Price

Harris Gene (Tootsie) Price was born March 14, 1928, to the late John T. and Jewel V. Austin Price.

Tootsie married Shirley Whitaker July 13, 1951, who preceded him in death in 2013. He was the owner of Burger Hut and Michie Shell Station and a retired brick mason and farmer.

He was a man who worked hard and didn't complain. Tootsie loved his family, visits to the Smoky Mountains, basketball games - he was an outstanding player for Michie High School, going to Jackson Generals ballgames, watching Fox News, old western movies, Perry Mason, and the sermons of Dr. Charles Stanley.

Tootsie departed this life on August 2, 2018 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 4 Months, 19 Days. He is survived by his children, Ronnie and wife Kay, Debbie and husband Ed Flatt, Roger and wife Connie; grandchildren, Valerie Hickman (Jimmy), Carole Kennedy (Chris), John Price (Amber), Trey Moore (Molly), Beth Fowler (Matt), Brandon Harvell (Nancy), and Michael Harvell (Nikki); 15 great grandchildren, Allie Claire and Jasper Hickman, Walker and Henry Kennedy, Hazel Price, Jack and Spencer Moore, Lillybeth, Luke and Levi Fowler, Nathan and Natalie Harvell, and Cole, Ryder, and Edi Harvell; two sisters, Marie Carroll of Counce, TN and Peggy George and husband John of Michie.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, J.D., Jimmie and John Wayne Price.
