Hattie "Mae" Dixon was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Howard and Annie Vivian Higgins Dixon.
A lifelong Hardin Countian, she was well known in the Newtown Community and a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew, and help others raise with raising their children. She was a very sweet and loveable woman who was full of life and joy. She loved her family very much and would do anything for anyone at any time.
Hattie "Mae" departed this life on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the age of 83 years, 1 month, 30 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Edith Nell Weatherspoon of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Juan Dixon of Savannah, Tennessee; Toyce (Andria) Dixon of Florence, Alabama, Jordan Weatherspoon of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Terrance (Kamala) Arnold of LaGrange, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Dixon, Kelsey Muse, Drelynn Dixon, Kelynn Dixon, Kion Dixon, Jaden Dixon, Khaylee Weatherspoon, Khelea Weatherspoon, Talayeah Arnold, and Tamarr Arnold; brother, Robert Lee Dixon of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Georgia Dixon and Inez Dixon both of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Annie Dillihunt, Maudie Faye Moore, Roberta Yarbro, James Howard Dixon, and R.D. Dixon; and a granddaughter, Kiawasha Miranda Weatherspoon.
