Helen Marie Flatt

November 20, 1937 — December 25, 2019

Helen Marie Fletcher Flatt

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Helen Marie Flatt, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, strongest link in the family, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on December 25, 2019 at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 5 days.
She left us while we were all sleeping peacefully, it brings us comfort to know she had salvation and was ready to go home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Helen was saved and baptized at Lorraine Baptist Church in 1965.

Born in Adamsville, TN on November 20, 1937, to the late Lucian and Beryl Walker Fletcher.
She married her loving husband James Lester Flatt on April 16, 1954. Mr. Flatt preceded her in death on January 26, 1987. During those 32 years of marriage they created a beautiful family
She was the beloved mother of Randy Flatt and wife Mary of Stantonville, TN, Deborah Marie Flatt Pearson of Millington, TN, Sherry Diane Flatt, Gary Flatt, Brian Flatt and wife Deneen all of Michie, TN; the beloved grandmother of 5 Grandchildren: Jack Pearson II, Amy Pearson Groves, Kristi Flatt Jerrolds, Chelsea Flatt and Dillon Flatt; and 5 Great Grandchildren Alison Groves, Jordyn Jerrolds, Brayden, Aubrianna and Mila Dykes.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Flatt was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Flatt; a sister, Rheba Douglas; three brothers: Bob, Bill and Harold Fletcher; and a grandson, Allan Flatt.

Helen dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother, working long hours in the sewing factories to provide for her family, somehow still managing to be a wonderful homemaker and a mother who made sure children never went without, sacrificing her sleep, time and any outside social life of her own, to make sure she was always the one cheering them on from the sidelines, to say Helen’s children were anything less than her sole reason for living would be an understatement. Helen often spoke of her childhood and loved to tell stories of the days gone by, her mother’s and father’s love and how they always had everything when they had nothing. Helen lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and the hardest working woman we’ve ever known. She loved Sunday dinners with her family, her home was always a place to come for comfort and peace, we all believed she could sew anything, cook anything and fix anything. Every birthday there was a cake made and waiting for you no matter how old you were. Helen loved her family and always wanted them to know they were taken care of. She prayed for her children and family every night. Her values are instilled in all of us. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
