Hershel Junior Lott

Hershel Junior Lott departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 29 days. He was born in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Orbie H. and Daisy B. Plunk Lott. In January 1945, he was united in marriage to Dona Jean Smith, who preceded him in death on March 1, 2010.

Hershel served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Brown Shoe Company and then went to work for himself hanging sheet rock. Hershel was a member of the Library Club and the American Legion. He loved reading, watching Cardinal baseball, traveling and had been all over the United States, and liked to play dominoes.

Hershel is survived by his children, Henry L. Lott of Adamsville, Tennessee, Linda Dyann Lott Moore and her husband Ancil of Savannah, Tennessee, Sammie H. Lott and his wife Jackie of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Susan Lott Gean and her husband Rickey of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ricky J. Moore and his wife Robin, Jerry W. Moore and his wife Amanda, Lorie Gean Earwood, Wade Gean and his wife Wenea, and Jesse Lott and his wife Heather; great grandchildren, Haley Moore, Allison McNeil, Kenzie Moore, Eli Moore, Daniel Earwood, A.J. Earwood, Madison Gean, Aiden Lott, Zoey Lott, and Izzy Lott; sisters, Faye Grooms of Memphis, Tennessee and Wilmanell Hughes of Lawton, Tennessee; and niece, Wanda Jean Finely.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Hershel was preceded in death by his sisters, Effie Mae Clenney and Mary Ruth Hamm; and brothers, Marshall Lott, Raymon Lott, and Hugh Ray Lott.
