Hershel Lee (Red) Tilley

Hershel Lee (Red) Tilley, Sr. departed this life on August 7, 2019 at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

Hershel was born on November 25, 1945 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late James L. and Stella May Tilley. He was a very talented carpenter and ran his own business. He attended New Beginnings Church in Finger, Tennessee, and also enjoyed watching Steve Gaines on television when he was unable to attend services.

Hershel loved his dogs, and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

He leaves behind: two daughters; Susan Kay Jones and her husband Bobby of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; Clara Mae Mast and her husband Norman of Finger, Tennessee; one son, Hershel Lee Tilley, Jr. of Ranger, Georgia; three sisters; Wanda Faye Steely and Glona Jo Hollander both of Savannah, Tennessee, and Mary Frances Tilley of Ranger, Georgia; one brother, J.B. Tilley of Savannah, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; A.J., B.J., Abby, Justen, LeAnna, Jake, Kaitlyn, Makayla, Amber, Katie, Mikey, Dellah, and Lily; and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: one son, Terry Dewayne Tilley; two sisters, Shirley Ann Powell and Fannie May Tilley; and two brothers, Herby Gene Tilley, and Johnny Richard Tilley.
