Homer Whitman was born November 1, 1929 in Chester County, TN the son of the late Odell and Era Brooks Whtiman.
He was united in marriage to Arby Pennington on August 20, 1993.
Mr. Whitman worked for Brown Shoe Factory for 49 years retiring from Factory V as superintendent. He proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Selmer. He truly loved all people and loved life especially sharing and talking about Brown Shoe Factory. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Whitman departed this life on July 30, 2019 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 8 Months, 29 Days. He is survived by his wife Arby Whitman of Selmer, TN; two sons, Keith Whitman, Ricky Bullock and wife Carrie; a daughter, Felesha Perrigo and husband Rocky; sister, Sandra Bass and husband Leon; sister-in-law, Peggy Whitman; three foster sisters, Barbara Wilson, Brenda Scott, and Kay Kiddy; five grandchildren, Kristen Perrigo, Emma Perrigo, Jill Bullock, Brittany Kelso, Tiffany Peters; a great-grandchild, Kenlee Crouse; special niece and nephews, Patty Cox, Johnny and Jeff Cox; special friends, Ramon, Osvaldo, and Karla Pineda; and a host of nieces,nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitman was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Lonnie Whitman; sister-in-law, Ann Whitman.
