Howard Norman (Sonny) Overpeck, Jr. was born September 21, 1942 in Chestnut Hill , PA the son of the late Howard Norman Overpeck, Sr. and Mary Kibler Overpeck.
Mr. Overpeck served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served in Company C, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart because of his wounds he received in action on November 22, 1965 in the Republic of Vietnam.
Most of his family and friends called him by his nickname, Sonny. For several years, he drove a truck all over the country. He was a good man who cared and provided for his family.
Mr. Overpeck departed this life on February 5, 2022 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 4 Months, 15 Days. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jolynne Overpeck of Ramer, TN; grandson, Tyler Overpeck of Ramer, TN; step grand daughters, Brittany Lane and family, Krysten Lane and family all of Ramer, TN; a brother, Butch Overpeck and wife Noreen of Kunkletown, PA; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Overpeck was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Overpeck; a son, Shane Overpeck.
