    I J Vaughan

    December 2, 1941 - May 10, 2022

Mr. I J Vaughan, age 80, of Toone, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital. A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Hugh Aubrey Vaughan, Sr., and Ora Vaughan. A licensed electrician, he retired from Chem-Ring Corporation in Toone (formerly known as Kilgore) as Facility Maintenance Supervisor where he worked from 1988-2006. He also had previously been a supervisor for Lucerne from 1977-1988. Mr. Vaughan was a member of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #608 and recently received his 50 year membership recognition. He was a member of Toone Baptist Church and, in his spare time, enjoyed fishing, hunting (in his younger years), gardening, yard work and old westerns especially those featuring John Wayne. He generally liked being outdoors and time spent on the water. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Moore; three sisters, Sally Vaughan, Lillie Wade Brown, an infant sister; and two brothers, Hugh Aubrey, Jr. and Roy Vaughan. He leaves his wife, Ann Vaughan, whom he married on October 5, 1981; four children, Sandra Gatto (Gary) of Knoxville, Rhonda Moore (Terry) of Medon, Ronnie Vaughan (Tamala) of Jonesboro, AR and Michelle Chase (Brad) of Jackson; two sisters, Linda Grantham and Louise Hill, both of Bolivar; twelve grandchildren, Aaron Vaughan, Kayla Lee, Hayley Yates, Molly Deming, Erin Sullivan and husband Corey, Taylor Chase, Colton Moore, Kikn Bah, Evan Vaughan, Amber, Andrew and Adam Gatto; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jace and Raylan Vaughan, Haggard Lane, Aiden Yates, Charlie and Harper Deming, Shelby Smith, and Adalyn Floyd; and his fur-baby, Reno.
